The Malawi Accountants Board (MAB) successfully hosted a 3-day Capacity Building & Training Workshop for Parastatals, under the theme:
"Bridging Gaps in Financial Reporting: Elevating Financial Statements for Better Governance"
The workshop brought together Executive Directors, Chief Executive Officers, Directors of Finance, Heads of Finance Departments, and Accounting Personnel from various parastatal institutions to strengthen accountability, improve reporting practices, and promote good governance.
We were honoured to have Mr. Henry Kissinger as our Guest of Honour, whose remarks set a strong tone on the importance of financial integrity and compliance in the public sector.
Our expert facilitators, CA. Hollen Kamanga and Rajiff Issah (FMVA, BIDA), delivered impactful sessions on:
- Common deficiencies in financial reporting
- Updates on applicable financial reporting standards
- Best practices in the preparation of financial statements
- Compliance expectations from MAB and other oversight institutions
